Interest from Nottingham Forest and West Ham
Nottingham Forest and West Ham are reportedly keen on signing the goalkeeper. The buyout clause for international transfers has recently decreased. At 25, Carlos Miguel might leave his club in July.
First and foremost, let’s discuss Carlos Miguel of Corinthians. Amid negotiations that could see him join English football, the 25-year-old goalkeeper trained with his teammates this Friday at the Joaquim Grava Training Center.
According to ‘Globo Esporte,’ Carlos Miguel has received offers from Nottingham Forest and West Ham in England. Therefore, the payment of a €4 million buyout clause (approximately R$ 23 million) is expected to be completed in the coming days.
Consequently, the goalkeeper could leave Timão immediately. He will have a few days to prepare for his move to Europe and is expected to join his new Premier League club in July.
Having a contract valid until the end of 2025, Carlos Miguel has been attracting interest from the English market. Earlier this year, Nottingham Forest had inquired about the situation of the black-and-white’s goalkeeper.
Furthermore, the departure of Cássio has opened the door for Carlos Miguel to become the starting goalkeeper at Corinthians. Therefore, his potential departure now would have a significant impact on the team and put pressure on the management after losing two players in the same position.
Since his arrival at Timão, the goalkeeper has played 24 matches, 21 of which as a starter. He has achieved 17 wins, four draws, and three losses under coach António Oliveira.
Currently, in addition to Carlos Miguel, Corinthians has Matheus Donelli, Felipe Longo, and other players from the club’s youth categories as alternatives.
Timão will return to the field next Tuesday away from home, at 7 PM (Brasília time), against Atlético-GO, in the Brazilian Championship.
